PSN

Come on Sony get your systems working right.  Does anyone else play playstation 3?  Over two weeks ago Sony shutdown the playstation network because it was hacked.  Saying that it would only take about one or two days to get back up we still wait.
Many people are very mad at the fact that Sony keeps saying one thing and not holding up on what they say.  After the two days Sony said it would be a week.  Well a week past and people were still waiting.  Then they said it would be back on May 3rd...nothing then may 5th and once again nothing.  Now the timetable is somewhere between May 11th and 3-6 weeks from now....  Anyone else thinks this if absurd???

LA Sadness

What happened to the Lakers in their series?  I mean a sweet from the Mavs and on top of the Lamar Odem and Andrew Bynum get tossed from the game in a matter of a minuet.  Come on La it looks like you just quit on the best coach ever in the history of the NBA Phil Jackson.  If i was Jackson I would be embarrassed on how the team played in my last coaching game.
Now what will happen?? The Lakers just quit on Phil and quit on the city of Los Angeles.  I would hate to be a laker fan right now because the way they treated the Mavs and then the way they "fought" for Phil in this series.  What do you think is right for the Lakers now.

Favorite Topic

My favorite topic question was how the internet or web changed over the past ten years.  The reason for that was because it really made me think about how things have really changed of over the past ten years or more.  It made me realize that yes things have changed but it also has shown me that some things are better.  However there is another reason that the net or web made me think.
With the way that the web has changed it has proven that there is more information then we can handle or know.  It has helped me recognize that there is more out there then just the three or four items that I tend to look up.  The web is part of technology and as technology grows the web will grow.  Only time will tell what is next.

Pick Number 254

Whats the deal with the final pick in the NFL draft being called Mr. Irrelevant? All I really know is that they have a party for the last pick of the draft and not one for the first pick...  It started in 1976 and ever since then the very last pick every year has been named Mr. Irrelevant.  Is that fair to the guy who gets drafted last?
This year Cheta Ozougwu is Mr. Irrelevant.  From my understanding he is a hard working DE from Rice University.  Will he hake the Texans?  Most likely not but still he will have the title of that for the rest of his life.  I am sure no one wants that title bestowed on them no matter what.

Rights to Privacy 2

Internet and Technology has affected the way privacy has evolved.  There are different ways to understand the way that privacy has been evolved.  However there are ways that technology has changed that still wont protect our privacy.  Every day more and more people are loosing their privacy because of hackers and problems with network.
A week ago the playstation network went down.  As of yesterday they admitted that people's privacy has been hacked and stolen.  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/26/sony-playstation-network-down-ps3_n_853695.html  lists what has happened.  With all this happening it is clear that our privacy is not safe.

Rights to Privacy

I feel like it is important for individuals to have rights of privacy.  Without it there would be no way to keep anything we want safe.  With our own right of privacy we are able to block things we want to be kept a secret.  Privacy is used to keep things secret from public knowable.
With all that we use it is helpful to keep things private.  Without our privacy where would we be?  To me we would be nowhere but back in the stone ages.  Privacy is main to everyone and should continue to be accepted and promised to all.

    Change

What would I change about copyright law if I could.  Well first I would let people have one free download of a movie or music or anything like that.  Then I would start to charge a feel to download something like Apple.  Only difference is that everything would be .99 cents.  Then monitor who downloads what.
With that being said I know it will be hard to track what is downloaded and by who.  There could be a small tag added to each clip downloaded so it can be tracked.  The tag could be tracked to see if it is on multi platforms or what.  With that you can see how it is used.

    Copyright.

Yes, I have been tempted to break copyright protection. Who hasn't? Nowadays, it seems very easy to do and it seems like you won't ever get caught.  With it being so easy to download a program to rip software or download a movie via internet has never been easier.  Here are ways to do that.
Take illegally downloaded music, for example. File sharing sights like Frostwire make file sharing quick and easy to do. We all know that it's illegal and that it breaks copyright protection, but a lot of people do it anyway.  Then we have a site like Pirate Bay that lets you get software, movies, games, and music just like that.  It is just very simplay to do something like this and we have people who do it all the time.

    3G

Is 3G really the important to all people who have smart phones?  To me 3G is important.  If people with AT&T have smart phones then they realize the 3G is important to them.  It took AT&T about three or four times longer to receive it in Murray.  For reasons unknown there was a huge wait for it in Murray.
3G is "The Fastest" mobile internet.  Well for AT&T it is the fastest however they are going through a buyout with T Mobile.  Verizon has had 3G in Murray for the past year.  Now with 4G just around the corner for smart phones we will see what will happen next.  Will it take Murray another 2-3 years??

    Topic 2

How do I stop plagiarism in my work?  Well for starters I always check to make sure the work I use is credited and that there is documented works with it.  Second I always site my work not matter how long the information I use from the article is.  It is proper to site your work or you can be charged with plagiarism which we all know is very very bad.
Problems that I could have if I don't site my work.  Well fro starters I could be kicked out of school.  Second of all I could go to jail and we all know you don't want to drop the soap for Bubba!! So in kind words don't plagiarize.

    Red

    http://www.google.com/cse/home?cx=017960193038947448634:hp6eoilioaq&hl=en
My topic is the Cincinnati Reds.  The reason I chose the Reds was because they are my favorite baseball team.  They also have one of the most young known talent.  The sites I used were twitter, yahoo, espn, cbssports, cincinnati.com, mlb.com, sportsillistrated.com, redreporter.com, and baseball-almanac.com.
The reason that I chose those sites are mainly because they each contain information on the Cincinnati Reds.  They give stats, stats, bios, and other important information about my topic.  With each site you can choose what to look at.  For example twitter is used to follow the team or even players.

    Google

Honestly the only Google product I actually use is Google search.  At times I might use Google docs to help my father with something or to check upcoming fraternity events.  Other then that I really don't use any other products on my computer.  Now i do have the Google app on my phone but I honestly don't use it much.  For reasons I honestly don't know.
Now when it come to me why I don't use more then the app I have and the Google search is because those are really the only two things I actually like.  I honestly have no main reason on why I don't use anything else.  I guess the only main reason I don't use anything else is because I like just being simple and not using anything else really.

    Wikipedia

I honestly don't feel safe about people being able to change information on Wikipedia.  To mean someone can create their own spot and write whatever they want about them self.  Now when it is important information and they don't have the updated parts available to see then I think it would be okay to change something.  Now when you want to just be stupid and change things then it should not be allowed.  there is no reason for someone to make up something and change anything they want.
Honestly I would not change anything on Wikipedia.  I believe that there is no reason for a random person like me to change it.  I actually have no reason to want to change any information.  Now if I find out something is fake and wrong I am willing to find out the right information and change it but that would be the only reason.

    Tactics

Apple developers have taken the time to create many different things for us.  We start with things like the iPad, iPodm and iPhone along with the app store and music store.  Through those stores you can pretty much find anything you need.  I mean come on Apple has a app for everything.  Added on to all of the iStuff Apple had developed a range of Mac Books for people to buy and us.  Their tactics are good for students and children because the iPhone is pretty much all you need for daily life.
With Google it has changed the way we search for information.  We use to and still have search engins like Yahoo, Ask Jeevs, and Dogpile.  Now we have Google and the billion plus hits it has a day.  Plus Google has gmail, docs, and even a bookstore.  The tatics with that are just as simple as apple because it targets everyone.

    Changing the Years!

Over the past ten year the internet has changed many things.  It has led to things like Pandora, eBay, and the emergence of social networking.  By social networking I mean sites like Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter.  All of those sites have lead to many different ways to communicate with other around the world rather it's by tweeting, facebooking or skypeing there is a way that you can contact anyone you want.  What has it done for me?
With Facebook I am not able to keep up with friends from High School and even find friends from my childhood.  With Skype I am able to talk to friends around the world.  With Pandora I have been able to find free internet radio that allows me to crate my own station with what music I want.  With both Myspace and Facebook you can check out people music.  Even Youtube has helped people get videos out in the world. What has it done for you?

    Chad Ochocinco

As we have seen on ESPN recently Chad Ochocinco had decided to go play soccer since the football season is already lost.  But honestly what is he thinking. He is a football player not a soccer player.  Now the strange thing about ti all is that he says that soccer is his number 1 passion.  If that's so then where does that leave football?  On top of that where will he be playing next season?
First off why play a sport that's not your number 1 passion?  The reason for that would be money, but if he is sick and tired of the Bengals why does he resign and not play the retirement card like Carson Palmer?  No one knows what goes on in Ochocinco's mind.  With that being said will he play football when another season starts or will he stick with soccer?  What is your opinion on this.

Do I believe the internet or not??

In truth I don't always believe what I read on the internet.  There are many reasons why but the main reason would have to be the fact that anything can be changed at any time.  There is no clear way to tell if the site you are on is real or fake.  Then they might just want to make up different ideas and try to fool you with different time of information.  With that said here is my opinion on the entire situation on information on the internet.
Information just like everything else is always changing over time on the internet and in real life.  There is really no real way to tell if something is real or just fake.  Also anyone can post anything just look at Wikipedia for example it contains information that is changed by different people all the time.  So can you choose to believe what is on sites like this or is there a different way for you to tell what is real or not.

    Internet Advertisements.

The internet is full of different ways to bring advertisements to people.  Many of those are easy to see but some can be difficult to spot.  On all that said there are also different ways to feel about it.  To me there is no right way to feel towards advertisements on the internet.  They are there to promote products to the consumers that visit the sites.
Advertisements are good to a certain extent.  When it is clear that the only reason someone has created a website just to sell advertisements you know that it can be a good site to visit.  There really is no easy way to let you know how I feel about a advertisement being on a website I visit.  I honestly don't pay that much attention to them when I visit different sites.

    NFL

What will a 18 game season do to the future of football?  How will it change what we know today?  Both of these questions are good things to think about in the future.  This is what people are things about as the NFC continues its collective bargaining agreement.  Even as we speak the NFL is still trying to work out kinks to see if there is going to be another seasons next year.
With the addition of two more games we the fans will be able to watch a sport we love for two extra weeks.  It would allow the NFL to make more money and have a bigger fan base.  Now what would it mean for the players?  It would absolutely mean more work for them which is one thing most would not enjoy.  That is the biggest problem that most players would have.  All of this is something to watch out for in the future.

    Learned

So far this semester I have learned many different things from class.  Each lesson that we have gone over in class has been very influential.  I have learned how to use databases that I have never really used before.  I have learned more about citing in more then MLA.  I've also learned about many different types of information.
Also I have learned how to tell the difference between the Dewey Decimal System and the Library of Congress Classifications.  I have learned to to write blogs and ask better questions to find information.  I have learned the difference between Scholarly and Popular journals.  I have also learned how to navigate through different databases.  All of these have healed me get a better understanding of different library techniques.

    Databse Topic 2

I honestly don't use databases for multiple reasons.  First off I have not really had to do a ample amount of research using databases.  That is one reason why I don't really use databases.  Another reason is that I just never really thought to go and look for different databases to sue when I need to do research.  The other reason is that there are just to many to choose from.
Each teacher is different when it comes to writing papers.  Some teachers actually make you use different databases to find information out for papers others just give you a choice on where you can search for it.  When it comes to those different choices it is hard to decide on what to exactly use.  Some may use Academic Search some may use a different one when it come to requirements.  All of that Factors in on if I decide to use a database or now when I am looking to do research.

    Topis #1

Why are databases so important for research?  That is one question that has can been asked by any college student.  It can only be answered in many ways.  One way to answer this question is simple.  Databases are useful to students because it helps them search for information that the school library has.
Another way to answer this question is by saying that a database is something that contains many ways to find information that you need for a class or homework.  Databases are very important because not only to the tell you what is in the library but they also can show other libraries that contains information you might need from other libraries.  Databases also contain other links to websites that contains information.  All these different sites are very useful to to students.  With a new day comes new information hat is posted to help students.

    NCAA

Does the NCAA need to rethink their decisions on how to handle players that go to the NBA?  Is a one and done year okay for students in school that are in big conferences?  Now these days it is rare that a elite player stays in school.  Usually these 18 year old players go to school for one year then they inter the NBA drat and leave their schools.  Take last years Kentucky team, all five starters and a few  bench players left to go pro and left that program with no real leadership.  The team had over 30 wins last season and wont be able to reach that number this year unless they win 10 in a row.
I think that the NCAA need to at least come up with a rule like it has in football.  In football you are able to turn pro after your junior season.  If they did that in basketball I believe that you will see better teams evolve and a more competitive aspect of the game.  It might even help the smaller schools get better players.

    My Methods

There are many way to keep yourself organized.  My methods that I use to keep myself organize are time management, a calender, and a planner.  Time management is very important to me.  When I pledged for Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia the most important thing to remember to organize your time wisely.  With out time management I would have fallen apart that semester and not know what to do.  It helped me become a better person also because it is something that we will all need to use in life when we go out into the "real world" and become true adults and have jobs.
Planners are useful for students and other teachers.  In my case planners help me manage my time more properly.  With a planner I can write down what all I am doing for the day because they usually brakes it down hour by hour.  Finally with a calender I can keep track with what BIG important events that happen through the month.  With all three of these items I have become well organized and can manage everyday like properly.

    To Organize

What does organizing mean?  Well to mean organize means to have all priorities straight and to have everything you are trying to full fill in order.  Organizing is very important in everything I do.  Without it I would be lost and not know what to do.  Its a combination of learning time management, studying, and many other aspects that we all use in our daily lives.
To organize also teaches how to arrange things in you life.  It also teaches you about management and how to work.  But a main definition of organize means to put together into an orderly, functional, structured whole.  So to organize has many different meaning to everyone but we can all believe that it is important when we do anything.

    Not Enough?????

Whats the world coming to when a top athlete decides to not sign a extension with his teams because he says "it's not about the years...it's about the money!" ?   Is he being greedy or ignorant?  What does the future hold for him now?
As we have herd St. Louis Cardinals first basemen Albert Pujols has ended his negotiations with the team for a contract extension that goes beyond the year because they weren't willing to offer him "top 5" player money, instead the Cardinals offered him a "top 10" player size contract.  When your already a top payed player and have enough money to last a lifetime does 5-10 million dollars a year really matter?    Where will he be next year?? Some people think that he will not resign with St. Louis in the off-season which makes some people think that he will become a Chicago Cub just to take revenge on the Cardinals.
The future is unwritten and we will see what unfolds as the season progresses.  In everyone's opinion is Albert Pujols being greedy or ignorant here?

"Don't Settle for What is Handy"

Do we always go with the first topic we see on the internet?  Do we actually take the time to look though the rest of the links provided to us when we search for information?  What is handy information?
All of these questions are useful when asking if you use the handy information or if you go deeper into your search and look for better information.   First off if we just look at the first few links that come up when we search for something then there is no reason to continue the search because we feel like we have what we want already.  To me "handy" information is the easy information what we look for.  Truth of the matter is that sometimes what we are rally looking for does not appear on the first page or two of a search, it would appear later on a few pages in.  Handy information is easy to find its the first set of links provided to you by Google or any other search engine.  When searching for information I found it easier to just look 4-5 pages into my search and find something that is handy and interesting instead of the really easy stuff at the first few pages.

    "Practice Thinking about Sources"

To me when we think about sources it is the ability to know what you are looking for and how you can find it.  To find sources to need to know how to search for them and under what circumstance to use different methods to search.  When researching it is good to know the way around the desired search engine you will be using and how to use it.  To me research is all about how to learn and how to take that learning into context and use it in an educational way in a paper or in everyday life.
When you think about researching for information you have to know what different sites you have to use and how to use them.  Also you need to know the topic that you want to search and the cretin type of information about the subject that you want.  Once you find out that you can go to the site and search the information that you want.  After all that is done you have to go through the information given to you and find what you want.  A very well known and the most used site to search for information is http://www.google.com/

    NFL

What would it be like if there is no NFL season???  We might find that out sooner then we though.  All season we have herd about a new collective bargaining agreement, this agreement will affect the fans most of all. Not just all NFL fans but those in cities like Green Bay, Jacksonville will hurt the most because they don't have any other professional teams.  The owners already share a 50-50 split of the 9 billion dollars that the NFL brings in but they ask for a additional billion dollars onto what the split is.  The two sides are also fighting over a rookie salary cap for next season. http://articles.philly.com/2011-02-11/sports/28350561_1_franchise-tag-nflpa-cba
With all this being said I can only think of a few places to look this up.  One was to go to Google and the other was NFL.com.  Each gave great amounts of information and much of the information was helpful some was not.  it was interesting to hear that like everything else in the professional world it revolves around money and that's it.    Have the players really forgotten what playing is all about??? Shouldn't it all be fun?

    Web Sites

My favorite website would have to be Google.  Whenever I need to find out information I always use Google because it is my home page and I always find myself looking there for other sites to go to for different information about certain things like sports, video links to YouTube or Google video, and I also tend to look for research information about things I tend to write about.  Usually if I can’t find something I will go to Google and it will be there and it won’t take me a long time to find it.  http://google.com

    topic 1

According to Michel Foucault an "author" constitutes the privileged moment of individualization in the history of ideas, knowledge, literature, philosophy, and the sciences. He goes on to say that even today, when we reconstruct the history of a concept, literary genre, or school of philosophy, such categories seem relatively weak, secondary, and superimposed scansions in comparison with the solid and fundamental unit of the author and the work.  http://www.generation-online.org/p/fp_foucault12.htm
To me an author is someone who represents what information is and how it is kept over time.  Without an author we have no way to document anything that has happened over time.  it is very important to our future and from our past that people have recorded information and continue to do so.
